Living the Frontlines:
How Prolonged War Shifts Everyday Life in Kherson Oblast
This study analyses how prolonged military conflicts transform everyday life and reshape recovery trajectories in Ukraine’s frontline regions. The research draws on data from a case study of the Kherson region (17 Right Bank communities and 225 settlements,which has experienced occupation, de-occupation, continues to exist in close proximity to the front line and has been affected by active hostilities for more than four years.
Daria Malchykova is a Professor at Kherson State University, currently living in Western Ukraine.
