Is a Systematic Approach to Trauma Exposure Possible?
How Ukraine Informs Global Approaches to Trauma Exposure
and Research Ethics in the Context of Armed Conflict

Ukraine illustrates important challenges in the study of trauma due to high population mobility. The relatively novel impact of digital media on measuring exposure to trauma-related events and experiences in the Ukrainian case raises important questions concerning earlier assumptions concerning the central importance of proximity to frontlines and population trauma. Across the globe, trauma within combatants and civilian populations in the context of armed conflict remains critically important.
