Don’t Forget to Like, Share and Survive:
Civilians and the New Support Ecology of War 

Accessible digital and commercial technologies have widened the range of wartime activities available to civilians. Accounts centred on a visible participant, device, or platform, however, obscure the relationships that make these activities possible. In wartime Ukraine, civilian participation operates through support ecologies that connect needs with resource mobilization. Institutions take on greater responsibilities when they direct civilian work, hold information unavailable to participants, or depend on civilian contributions to maintain essential functions.
