Transformation of Europe after Russia’s Attack on Ukraine
Russia’s 2022 full-scale invasion of Ukraine challenged core assumptions about European security, forced Europe to redefine its borders, and changed power relations within the EU, giving rise to a more geopolitical Europe. A Europe that wields its economic power with greater attention to geopolitics, establishes clear borders, and elevates Poland and other frontline states to the top table of European security and defense policy.
Mitchell Orenstein is a Professor at the University of Pennsylvania (US).
