Roman Horbyk, born in Kyiv, is a Senior Lecturer at Örebro University (Sweden). He defended two dissertations, on illustrated press in the 1920s Weimar Republic and Soviet Ukraine (Shevchenko U, 2015) and on media power in representations of Europe in Ukraine, Russia and Poland during Euromaidan (Södertörn U, 2017). His current research project deals with how mobile phones are used by Ukrainian soldiers and civilians at war. He has worked as a journalist and is active as a playwright and screenwriter, including for Pryputni (2017).
